TWI - Digital Radiographic Testing Level 2 Course
TWI - Digital Radiographic Testing Level 2 Course candidates must be qualified to a minimum of Level 1 or 2 Radiographic Testing or Interpretation conforming to EN 473 or ISO 9712.
CSWIP Level 2 DRT (Weld, Casting or Profile/Tangential) or PCN certification will be offered.
TWI - Digital Radiographic Testing Level 2 Course Objectives:
Student able to explain the theoretical background of digital radiography
Student able to be able to calibrate a CR system using a phantom
Student able to be able to explain current standards with reference to CR systems (BS EN 14784)
Student able to be able to use software specific parameters to assess a digital image
Student able to be able to explain the image processing of phosphor screens
Student able to be able to modify the digital image to optimise defect detection
Student able to be able to recognise the constraints and capabilities of a CR system
Student able to meet the syllabus requirements of E10.2 training and examinations PCN syllabus
Student able to be able to compile a written instruction
TWI - Digital Radiographic Testing Level 2 Course Content:
Principles of digital radiography; radiographic techniques with CR;equipment standards for CR systems; image processing using phosphor screens;calibration of equipment (use of phantom); software specific parameters; effects of magnification;calibration of measuring tools; definition of accuracy constraints and capabilities of CR system; use of analysis software;modification of image; acceptance and reporting.
